Tips for Burning a Soy Candle
Safety Tips:
Always burn your candle within sight
Keep your candle away from flammable objects
Keep candles out of reach from children and pets
Always burn on a level, fire resistant surface
1. Keep your wick trimmed
To avoid black soot, make sure you trim your wick before each burn. Trimming your wick to around 1/4" and removing any carbon will allow for a more visually appealing and controlled flame that evenly melts the wax.
Trimming the wick should be done when a candle is extinguished and the wax has hardened.
2. Prevent Tunneling in your Candle
When your first burn your candle, you want to make sure you melt the wax all the way to the edge and create an even pool across the surface. Achieving a full melt pool on the first burn should prevent “tunnelling” or a hole in the middle of your candle. The scent will be stronger on the second burn.
3. Burn your Candle 4 hours at a time
We recommend burning our candles for no more than 4 hours at time. If a candle is burned for more than 4 hours it can cause the wick to start producing excess carbon (mushrooming) as it is consuming a large amount of melted wax.
